Stetson 150th Anniversary Fortune and Glory Fedora

This week I’m showcasing a great Fedora from the Stetson 2015/150th Anniversary collection. This was part of a great collaboration with Matt Deckard.

This is a beautiful and classic Indy look. When I think Fortune and Glory, it takes me back to the great adventure film, Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom. You can wear this fedora with a nice suit or a more sporty look, in either case the fedora is a head turner.

The lines in this fedora are absolutely perfect. The brim is very nice an pliable making it very workable, and the fact it is made of 100X Beaver felt is the cherry on top. The leather sweatband is comfortable and the branding is classy. To me, this fedora is definitely the quality I have always expected from Stetson, and when you attach the name Matt Deckard to it, you should expect no less.

If you can get your hands on a Stetson Fortune and Glory, go for it, you won’t regret it.

Gannon Hat Company

Today I’m featuring a hat from the Gannon Hat Company out of Oregon. The company is owned by Michael Gannon, in my opinion, one of the best young American hatters today.

I found Michael’s company while searching on the internet and since then I have become a loyal customer. To me, a custom hat is like finding the right barber, once you find it, it becomes part of you.

Michael work is amazing, detailed and beautiful. From the initial email to delivery, Michael ensures you are treated the way a customer should be. He involves you in the process and walks you through the whole build.

Today I’m wearing a nice 100x Beaver Navy hat with a bound brim and a Blue Steel ribbon. The hat is beautiful and it fits like a glove. The felt is very nice and the sweatband is of very nice quality with attention to detail.

I’ll be featuring some more hats from the Gannon Hat Company. For more information visit Michael’s site below. You won’t regret it.

Stetson 3X Beaver Rancher Hat

Today, I’m sharing a beautiful Stetson 3X Beaver Rancher. Unlike modern Ranchers this one has a very nice soft crown and it is not as stiff.

To me, the nicest feature of this hat is the beautiful “Last Drop” stitched liner. The colors are amazing and it shows the quality of the hat.

I wouldn’t call this hat “vintage”, but the quality is definitely that of a vintage Stetson.

1950’s Dobbs & Co. “Fifteen” Fur Felt Hat

This week I’m featuring a beautiful vintage hat. This a Dobbs & Co., “Fifteen” in a beautiful deep brown fur felt.

The “Fifteen” designation means the price of the hat at the time of production. This is beautiful and comfortable hat and I get many compliments when I wear it in public.

Stetson The Open Road

I’m starting a new weekly segment featuring some of the hats, vintage and modern, from my collection.

This week I’m going to start with an icon among hats, Stetson The Open Road. I own a few of the vintage versions and this is in the 4X Beaver category. The felt on this hat is soft and very workable for those who like to change the crown style from time to time.

The hat is suitable to wear brim up or brim down, as well as with a nice suit or a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. This is a very beautiful hat that would make a great addition to any collection or as an everyday wearable.

There are many versions of the Open Road, but I feel older models are of better quality, of course that’s my opinion.
