The Presidents Cup

An Exhibition Without The Best Players

As Billy Horschel, Rory McIlroy, Jay Monahan, Davis Love III, and Fred Couples, are running around suffering from some serious LIV Golf Derangement Syndrome, the Presidents Cup is set to begin without the best players in the world.

The Golf Channel and Jay Monahan can spin it as much as they want, but the fact is their childish behavior towards LIV Golf has prevented the fans from enjoying a true team test.

Missing from the United States team are Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed, and Brooks Koepka. Say what you want, but these players are superstars that have been replaced by less than stellar players.

Sure, Max Homa and Billy Horschel are very talented players, but they are not at the same level of stardom or golf playing quality as the players mentioned above.

Let us be honest, Horschel is 35 years old and has never qualified for either a Ryder Cup or a Presidents Cup. To me, the main reason he got picked for this team is because he has been the biggest loudmouth for Jay Monahan regarding LIV Golf.

In other words, and in my opinion, Horschel was given a bone by the PGA Tour because they owed it to him, after all, Horschel has made a fool of himself enough times to merit that bone.

Indeed, he has been a first class troll for the PGA Tour, but a hateful one which says a lot about his character or lack thereof.

Let us face it, if these players were not part of LIV Golf, they would have been on the Presidents Cup team, either via Captain’s picks or points. Davis Love III can whine all he wants, but he could never deny this fact.

On the International team, missing are world #3 and PGA of America, Player of the Year, Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann, Carlos Ortiz, Marc Leishman, Charl Schwartzel, Abraham Ancer, and Louis Oosthuizen.

These are huge loses for the International team who’s roster is mostly filled with Presidents Cup rookies. This could be a blessing, but historically and statistically, this is more of a nightmare.

Chamblee, Monahan, and the rest claim these are the best players in the world, but without the star power of the Dustin Johnson’s and Cameron Smith’s of the world, this is more a country club exhibition than a true test of team golf.

Once again Jay Monahan and the PGA Tour fail to deliver and the fans are the ones who get the short end of the stick.

LIV Golf: Woke Free and Fun Golf

LIV Golf Chicago

Finished watching the second round of the LIV Golf event in Chicago and I will continue to say that LIV Golf is the future of professional golf.

The shotgun start, the music, the fans, the overall atmosphere of the tournament is refreshing and exciting.

I think the broadcast team still a work in progress, but the addition of David Feherty to the team has been a good one. He brings his humor and knowledge of the game to a ‘worry free’ environment where he can be himself.

I watched the broadcast on my computer and it worked just fine. No downtime nor disruptions. I even ordered a LIV Golf hat.

Not having to watch the lame broadcasting team of NBC Sports and the Golf Channel, with their phoney ‘white guilt’ commentary and ‘make believe’ commercials is a welcomed change.

McIlroy and Horschel can be Jay Monahan’s loudspeakers as much as they like, but the reality of LIV Golf is here to stay. Their silliness only makes them look petty, but if that is what rock their boats, by all means.

Straight golf, commercial free, less than 6 hour rounds, and woke free broadcasting, is a winning ticket.

If LIV Golf ever lands a broadcasting rights deal, that would be the end, in my opinion, of the PGA Tour and its grip on professional golf.

I am looking forward to tomorrow’s LIV Golf final round with Dustin Johnson and Cameron Smith putting up a show.

Meanwhile, the highest ranking player at the PGA Tour opener, the Fortinet Championship, is Hideki Matsuyama at number 16th in the OWGR. Good luck with that!

Where is Rory and Billy supporting the PGA tour this week? Exactly!

Irony Of The Week

Novak Djokovic Is Out of the U.S. Open While Illegal Aliens Keep Pouring In

“Let me get this straight. Illegal aliens can cross the border unvaccinated, and that is ok, but I cannot enter legally into the United States unvaccinated? Check! Photo courtesy of thestatesman.com

https://nypost.com/2022/08/25/novak-djokovic-officially-out-of-us-open-due-to-vaccination-status/

I have pretty much given up watching sports. I think they have been politicized to a point making them unbearable to watch.

From the “woke” advertisement to men been allowed to participate in women’s sports, what once was an outlet to get away from everyday life, has become too absurd, too preachy, and too boring.

In the latest act of stupidity by the United States government, tennis star, Novak Djokovic, has been forced to withdraw from the United States Open tennis tournament due to his unvaccinated status.

What makes this a ridiculous, forced, decision is the fact that, while Djokovic is denied legal entrance, thousands of unvaccinated illegal aliens are allowed to invade our country through the southern border.

After our own CDC has admitted their dismal response to Covid-19 and their heavy handed decision making, the government continues to peddle the false narrative about a virus with a 99% survivability rate.

In a world where stupidity has become the norm, I am not surprised the United States government continues to make stupid decisions.

The King Of Woke Does It Again!

Rich Lerner Of The (Woke) Golf Channel

The King of Woke, Rich Lerner of The Golf Channel

I was watching the USGA Women’s Amateur when I heard Rich Lerner come up with another one of his ridiculous gems.

He was talking about a reunion of all past U.S. Amateur champions when he mentioned the name of Fred Ridley.

He first referred to Fred Ridley as “Chairman” of Augusta National, then caught himself using the NBC Sports non-approved pronoun and immediately changed it to “Chairperson.”

Well Rich, the last time I checked, Fred Ridley still not only a person, but also a man. So, yes, Mr. Ridley is the chairman of Augusta National and you looked like a buffoon on national television.

I know you work for a company that is drunk on woke, but come on man, do not be that kind of stupid. At this point you are just an embarrassment.

What happened to you Rich? You used to be a person we could trust to call it the way it was.

The PGA Tour Is A Rotten Product

LIV Derangement Syndrome Has Been Taken To A Whole New Level

I thought I have seen every little dirty trick the PGA Tour can come up with in their fight against LIV Golf and its CEO Greg Norman. I was wrong!

On Sunday final round of the first playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Cameron Smith was handed a two stroke penalty for what the PGA Tour officials claimed to be an improper play during the third round.

Mind you, Cameron Smith was -11 at the end of his third round. With a victory, Smith could have overtaken Scottie Scheffler as the #1 player in the world.

Smith was definitely in contention until, oh, oh, the PGA Tour looked hard enough to find the infraction.

Just like that, Smith went from -11 to -9 and his chances of winning and becoming the #1 player in the world vanished with it.

I have no problem with professional golfers been held accountable for rules violations, but this one stunk like a skunk on a highway.

The infraction happened at the 4th hole during the third round and it was not until the morning after, and after the round was completed and the scorecard signed, the PGA Tour officials did not feel good about it.

If the PGA Tour had notified Smith during the third round, I would have gone along with it. Instead, they waited until the next day, right before Smith tee time to notify him of the infraction.

To me, that was a bunch of horse manure and deliberately done as to harm Smith chances at the #1 spot. Once the round is over the scores need to stand, period.

Sure, it is clear Smith took an improper drop and should have been penalized, but to wait almost 22 hours after the fact to notify him of the infraction was dirty and unprofessional.

With all the rumors of Smith leaving to go and play LIV Golf, and giving LIV Golf its highest ranked player today, Smith becoming the #1 player in the world was something the PGA Tour could not and would not allow to happen.

Next time, have some class and inform the player right away and not when the Tour feels threaten.

Garbage ranks higher than the PGA Tour and Cameron Smith has too much class to tell them.

Does the PGA Tour understands why players are leaving? Exactly!
